Africa

Pedro Sandoval's "Africa" series is a profound exploration of texture, color, and narrative, urging a tactile response as much as a visual one. The textured surfaces, from thick impastos to stretched cowhides, invite one to experience the artworks as artefacts with a history and a story. The use of vibrant and contrasting colors not only evokes the rich and diverse essence of African landscapes and cultures but also suggests the complex interplay of light and shadow that defines both a continent and its representation.
